Striving to complete Hoa River overpass before At Ty Lunar New Year 2025

In the morning of 23 August, comrades: Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City and leaders of departments, branches and localities of Hai Phong City and Thai Binh Province inspected the implementation progress of Hoa River overpass project and the section through Hai Phong of the road from Thai Binh City to Nghin bridge.

Hoa River overpass project and the section through Hai Phong City of the road from Thai Binh City to Nghin bridge have a total investment of over 760 billion VND. In which, Hoa River overpass is implemented in Vinh Bao District (Hai Phong) and Quynh Phu District (Thai Binh). The bridge is about 410m long, the retaining wall is 140m long, and the width is 22.5m. For Hoa River Bridge project, Thai Binh province has so far completed the site clearance work to serve the project construction. In which, Thai Binh province’s budget will pay for the site clearance work for the bridge and Hoa River Bridge access road in Thai Binh province.

Speaking at the working session in Vinh Bao district (Hai Phong), comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed: The traffic connection between Thai Binh and Hai Phong is very important, helping to promote socio-economic development and attract investment for 2 localities, especially Thai Binh province, because investors when coming to the province are very interested in connecting with Hai Phong through the seaport and airport area. The project of the road from Thai Binh city to Nghin bridge, connecting Quynh Phu district with Vinh Bao district, has been determined by Thai Binh province as a project of great significance. Thai Binh province has mobilized the entire political system to propagate and mobilize and received a very high consensus from the people. However, due to many objective difficulties, the People’s Committee of Thai Binh province is negotiating with the representative of the investor consortium to agree on the conditions for terminating the implementation of the BOT contract for the construction investment project of the road from Thai Binh city to Nghin bridge in accordance with the regulations of the law. Thai Binh province is studying a plan to convert the project investment to the form of public investment in the coming time.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also agreed with Hai Phong City on the general progress milestones of the project, striving to complete Hoa River overpass bridge before At Ty Lunar New Year 2025 and striving to complete 2km of the road connecting the bridge to DH.72 road in Quynh Phu district before 13 May 2025. 

He also emphasized that in addition to the road from Thai Binh city to Nghin bridge, Thai Binh province is also striving to complete the traffic routes connecting with provinces and cities in the region, especially the connection with Hai Phong city; including the coastal road, the province is determined to complete by 2025.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee hopes to continue to receive coordination and support from Hai Phong City so that the connecting routes between Thai Binh province and Hai Phong city can be quickly completed and put into operation, helping to promote socio-economic development and attract investment of 2 localities.

Speaking at the working session, comrade Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City, highly appreciated the significance and importance of traffic projects connecting with Thai Binh province. He requested Vinh Bao district and departments and branches of Hai Phong city to proactively coordinate and remove difficulties to speed up the progress of Hoa River overpass project; speed up the progress of projects related to the implementation of construction of some key traffic routes connecting with Thai Binh province such as the road connecting Highway 37, coastal road, etc. Determined to complete the routes connecting with Thai Binh province, creating a clear and convenient traffic corridor between 2 localities, promoting the development of Thai Binh province and Hai Phong city as well as provinces and cities in the region.
