Currently, Vu Thu has 5 craft villages including: Minh Lang embroidery, Vu Hoi and Dong Thanh food processing; brooms in Nghia Khe village, Hop Tien in Tam Quang commune. Number of business establishments in form of organization is 2,588 households; total number of regular employees 5,150/13,515 employees with an average income of 4 million VND/person/month. Among 5 craft villages with embroidery craft Minh Lang has been recognized as a craft village with OCOP products in 2021.

However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the development of occupations, rural industries, craft villages in particular as well as the economic sector of our country in general in general faced a lot of difficulties. Most craft villages have small production scale, little capital, simple technology and equipment, difficult to expand and develop. The quality of handicrafts is not high, there are not many branded products, it is difficult to compete with products of the same type produced in factories. The branding for the products of the craft village is still slow; The labor force in craft villages is decreasing sharply, making it very difficult to develop new suitable occupations.

In order for the craft village in Vu Thu district to develop more and more in order to build a new rural area, an enhanced new countryside, a model new rural area, in the coming time, the district will continue to pay attention to support and invest in the development of craft villages and consider this as an important task of the district and province. In addition, the district allocates funding sources for infrastructure investment; promulgate criteria and process for considering and recognizing trade villages that are practical and have a reward mechanism in order to create an important driving force for the development of craft villages.
