Following in the glorious tradition of Thai Binh farmers

Together with farmers nationwide, Thai Binh farmers had a tradition of patriotism and revolution a long time ago. Right from the beginning of 1927, the organization "The Farmers" was formed in Trinh Pho and Nam Huan (Kien Xuong). Next was the organization "Farmer Union" was established in all localities to educate the revolutionary morality and mobilize farmers to participate in political events. The protest of farmers in Tien Hung - Duyen Ha on May 1, 1930 and most significantly the Tien Hai farmers’ protest on October 14, 1930 in support of the Xo Viet Nghe Tinh movement showed Thai Biinh farmers’ glorious spirit of struggle. Despite their failures, the two demonstrations of farmers in Tien Hung - Duyen Ha and farmers in Tien Hai were the revolutionary climax in Thai Binh from 1930 - 1931. This proved that under the leadership of The Party, the peasant class of the country in general, and Thai Binh farmers in particular have matured in all aspects. That development required our Party to establish a farmer organization throughout the country to gather, unite and perform the tasks set out by the Party.

During the two long national resistance wars, Thai Binh peasants raised the revolutionary flag, together with farmers throughout the country firmly followed the Party. Responding to President Ho Chi Minh's call: “Let’s use my strength and liberate us" and "It is better to sacrifice everything but definitely not to lose the country, definitely not to be a slave", farmers in Thai Binh enthusiastically served the nation's long war against the US with the spirit "No shortage of rice, no shortage of soldiers". Generations of peasants have been working very hard, making the achievement of the province with the first 5 tons of rice / ha in the North, contributing to the struggle of farmers nationwide to gain independence and freedom for the Fatherland. After the great victories of the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the US imperialists, Thai Binh farmers, Party Committee and people in the province carried out the work of healing the wounds of war, building economy and new life.

Over the past 9 congresses, the Farmers' Association of Thai Binh province has been constantly innovating working contents, improving the quality and efficiency of operations. Currently, the Provincial Farmers Association has 254 communal units, 1,777 branches with over 300,000 members. Associations at all levels have organized and effectively implemented the movement "Farmers compete in production and doing business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably". Every year, more than 240,000 family members register; over 73% of households achieve the title of good production and business. Many models established by farmer members have a large scale of production, attracting and creating jobs for hundreds of workers, earning billions of VND per year.

To help members to develop their economy, improve their incomes, farmers' associations at all levels have promoted their trusting activities to help members borrow thousands of billion VND.  They have coordinated organizing 75,600 training courses to transfer science and technology to more than 3.7 million members; built more than 120,000 demonstration models for scientific and technical transfer of plants, animals and trades; linked branches and enterprises providing agricultural materials by the mode of deferred payment for members' production. In the construction of a new countryside, farmers' members in the whole province have donated more than 2.3 million square meters of land, contributed more than 2,100 billion VND and 1.9 million workdays to build new rural works. The movement of peasants to ensure national defense and security was promoted by all levels. The whole association currently manages 78 self-management groups of security in 45 communes, wards and towns. Farmers' members actively mobilized their children to perform their military service, join militia and self-defense force and participate in activities showing gratitude toward people with merits.

Over the past years, Thai Binh farmers have really become an important subject in the cause of building and defending the country and building a new countryside. That is reflected in the donation of millions of square meters of land, contributing thousands of billion VND, millions of working days to build welfare works, public transport; expressed by consensus in land consolidation - a great revolution in land. That is also the expression of ownership and love for the homeland and country of Thai Binh farmers. After the resistance wars to save the country, there hasn't been a period of time when farmers are aware of their mastery role as now. Up to now, 100% of communes and 7/7 districts have met the national criteria; Thai Binh city has completed the task of building a new countryside. This is a great achievement crystallizing the strength of the Party's will and people's hearts.

The demonstration of farmers in Tien Hung - Duyen Ha and the demonstration of farmers in Tien Hai wrote the eternal epic, which is a solid fulcrum to create more energy and determination for generations of peasants in building and defending the Fatherland in the period of renewal and international integration. Being a son of Chi Hoa, one of the cradles of the revolutionary movement, the farmer members of Chi Hoa commune are constantly developing their economy, helping each other in gratitude activities, accompanying the party committees and authorities to well perform all the tasks assigned by the Party and State.

Promoting the tradition of industriousness in production of Thai Binh farmers, I have actively invested in economic development and got rich. With more than 2ha of converted land, I chose to raise some specialties such as geckos, rabbits, and traditional fish. After deducting expenses, my family's model earned 600-700 million VND / year. In addition to economic development activities, I also create conditions to help farmers inside and outside the commune to visit and exchange experiences to get rich. I hope the farmers’ associations at all levels in the province will promote our hometown traditions, have more activities to support members, contribute to helping farmers' members to get rich legally.
